The Procedure for Assessment
|
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the assessment of your daughter/son. The procedure for the assessment is as follows:
The associated (Questionnaire)needs to be completed as fully as
possible. Please ensure that all previous assessment
reports are attached. In addition please include the
last two terms school reports.
Once Imogan Beukes, the Bellavista Assessment and Training Unit secretary, receives the above documentation, Viv van Staden the
Clinical Director of BATU will read the relevant documentation and decide on which assessments will be beneficial for your child.
Imogan will contact you telephonically to arrange testing dates. Please note that due to the high demand for assessments by BATU,
a waiting period sometimes may be necessary.
Your daughter/son will be assessed by each specialist individually.
Please ensure that you arrive timeously for the assessment and provide your child with a light snack and drink for the duration of the
assessment.
Once all the assessments are completed, the team of specialists meet to discuss the results. If you grant permission, your daughter/son's
class teacher and/or other relevant professionals will be invited to the case conference to give their valued input. During this case
conference recommendations are agreed upon.
The psychologist will meet with the parents and give verbal feedback on all aspects of the assessment as well as discuss the
recommendations.
A written report will be given.
Please note that no feedback will be issued until such time as the invoice for the assessment fees has been settled in full.
We look forward to working together with you
Yours sincerely
Viv van Staden
